2011 Chevrolet Silverado in St. Albans, VT

The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado
The Tough Gets Tougher

As far as trucks go, it was hard to fathom the expansion of an already great platform such as the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, or the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HDYou see, both Handy Chevrolet and Chevrolet themselves know truckers, truck fans, and truck lovers; they know how to appease their desires for the performance, power, and comfort demanded of their Chevrolet trucks, and more importantly they know how to not only balance those all important factors but get the optimal performance from each without losing efficiency in any facet of that triad.

The 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 got 22 miles per gallon, far above that of the F-150 or Ram.  With a configurable cargo area, a 4.3L V6 garnering 195 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque at the base model, and all the interior features one's heart could desire, it's no wonder Consumer Digest named it the Best Buy in the truck class.  But the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado isn't just about power and comfort:  it's about safety too, and when you need to use the dual front airbags, that means more than anything.

Again, it may be hard to comprehend an upgrade of any staggering amount, but that's exactly what the good folks at Chevrolet have done once more:  outdone not only themselves, but the industry as a whole.  And that fits perfectly with Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans, VT, one of the premier Chevrolet car dealers in the Burlington, Essex, and Plattsburgh area.

Get ready; the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is bigger, better, and for lack of a better term more bad to the bone.  But what else do you expect from the segment leader that makes large strides every year?

And the best part?  It's here at Handy Chevrolet!

So take a gander at the photos, information, and video below, and when you can no longer stand that drive-you-crazy desire to jump into one of these amazing vehicles, give Handy Chevrolet a call at 888-295-5380, click here to contact a Handy Chevrolet Sales Consultant, or go view the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado inventory by clicking here.

The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
has arrived at Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans

What seems like not long ago, the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was "on the way," and the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado's were selling like hotcakes, perhaps one of Handy Chevrolet's best sellers.  Folks from all around Burlington, Essex, St. Albans, and even Plattsburgh, NY came because not only does Handy Chevrolet have excellent prices and discounts, a Chevrolet financing team capable of making what seem like miracles happen, and a Chevrolet/GM Goodwrench Service and Repair facility second to none, but we also have a gigantic selection of new 2010 and 2011 Chevrolet cars, trucks, and SUVs.

But a couple months have passed, and so has the torch; the 2010 Chevy Silverado, though still available, has somehow been surpassed.  The all new 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is just what you've always dreamed about:  capable of handling the Vermont winter weather with ease yet more than comfortable in the summer with air conditioning, comfortable seating, and plenty of breathing room in the available Crew Cab.  All this is old news; what needs to be spread is what this thing can do.  After a fairly extensive review period, Handy Chevrolet now has all the knowledge to spill the beans on the ins and outs, the ups and (dare I say nonexistent) downs of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500's New Gadgets
What Do These New Toys Do?

Where some trucks fail is remembering what a truck is for:  carrying large amounts of weight in the bed, hauling tractors from Fairfield, Vermont to Milton, Vermont, and being able to go up and down the Vermont's various hills and dirt roads with ease.

The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 helps you do these things like never before.  New Chevrolet features like Trailer Sway Control and StabiliTrak keep you on the road, while Chevrolet's patented Automatic Grade Braking makes you comfortable in the fact that while coming down from your weekend camping trip from Mt. Mansfield, you never succumb to the dreaded runaway truck situation.

Trailer Sway Control is a technology made by General Motors and Chevrolet that further ensures you'll stay on the road while towing, giving you the peace of mind you need to focus on the myriad other situations that could arise.  The Trailer Sway Control System monitors speed, throttle position, steering wheel angle, yaw rate and more to get a sense of where your truck is in comparison to the trailer.  If the system detects any movement from the trailer that isn't in line with the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (called yawing), the Trailer Sway Control System activates and applies the proper brake pressure to correct the situation, reducing sway and the likelihood of a rollover.

StabiliTrak is the term coined by General Motors and Chevrolet that essentially means Electronic Stability Control.  StabiliTrack monitors the position of your steering wheel and wheels in relation to the momentum of the vehicle.  When it senses a miscalculation, for example due to wet roads, it applies perfect brake pressure to assist in correcting the situation and getting your vehicle back on track--back on a Stable Track.

Automatic Grade Braking and Tow/Haul Mode are essential in our Green Mountain State, because as we all know how treacherous the roads around here can be--dirt, snow, or winding pavement, they're all dangerous regardless of the season.

Tow/Haul Mode allows you to push a button and tell the Silverado you'll be climbing a hill or mountain.  The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado's torque converter stays in 2nd-5th gear to not only help spare your transmission, but also help power you and your 2011 Silverado 1500 up the hill with little effort and no churning.  Automatic Grade Braking is just as essential for the trip down Mount Mansfield, especially with your camper from a weekend camping trip, because it applies the correct brake pressure as you go down the hill keeping not only the 2011 Silverado 1500 but whatever is being towed in perfect order and in the driver's control.

The Exterior of the 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500
Elocution and Muscle

Surprisingly to most, the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, seen above in the LT, Z-71 Trim in Victory Red at Handy Chevrolet's lot just off the Interstate 89, Exit 20 ramp, is not only full of power and safety features but also has supremely attractive curvature, crisp and low drag coefficient lines, and an overall classy presentation about it.

Whether you're gazing at the blunt nose-end of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or watching it fly past you, the visual representation is nothing short of stunning.  Even the other colors available at Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans have extremely luscious tones about them, from the dark green or dark grayish-blue hues, right to the victory reds (picture at left) or the blizzard pearl whites, they just look amazing.

With large alloy rims (on this LT model anyway), a dazzling chrome back-bumper, and a simply crazy 300 millimeter ground clearance for all your off-roading needs, this 2011 Chevy Silverado has it all.  And with a turning radius of just under two feet, the large, imposing sight of this excellent trucker's truck is more agile than one would think.  As for pick up--well to put it bluntly you can feel that powerful Vortec Engine blasting away as soon as the Chevy Silverado even senses your foot nearing the gas pedal.  As facetious as that sounds, it's not the furthest thing from the truth!

The Interior of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado
You might think you're in a Limousine

Once you sit in the soft, plush leather seats for even a quick minute, it's a guarantee that this vehicle will not leave your side.

Most noticeable, the Silverado 1500 LT, as to the right, comes with the Double Cab and hence a half door behind each front, making it a snap for you and four full-grown friends to hop in and have plenty of room.  In fact, the back seat has over 65 inches of shoulder room, and well over three feet of head room, making this able to accommodate some big fellows and ladies.

What if you don't have four friends going with you on a particular trip or you have more gear than even the giant cargo bed can hold?  Well as you see in the picture to the right, just flip up the folding seats in the rear, and you have an extended cab worth of room extra!  Now that is Handy!

The steering wheel itself, while driving, has a tighter feel than the 2010 Chevy Silverado as well, perhaps due to the one-piece steel frame that the engineers at Chevrolet used for this year's Silverado, though the super-gripping Wrangler All-terrain, S-rated tires help too.  The center console in the front seat also drops for an armrest large enough for two big people or returns upright for another seat, makin this vehicle a six-seater!

In terms of convenience, the LT version of the Silverado 1500 is absolutely loaded for 2011.  A loud speaker system, coupled with the high quality CD player and the satellite radio-ready head unit makes for crystal clear treble perfectly mixed with deep, pounding bass, and even the AM/FM radio comes in with excellent clarity.  Furthermore, an MP3 decoder means once your three-month free satellite radio trial ends, you'll have all the music at your fingertips should you choose not to renew.  Power everything is the name of the game these days, and the 2011 Silverado 1500 LT does not disappoint:  power windows, power mirrors, heated exterior mirrors, and OnStar strapped right onto the rear view mirror are only some of the fun gadgets ready to be pawed over to your hearts content.  This Silverado even has a 120 Volt power point right under the center console, as well as a USB jack on the opposite side of the 120Volt jack.

To keep you cool in the summer, plenty of cup holders and a freezing-cold air conditioner is ready to go--in fact, it's been a long while, if not forever, since seeing an air conditioner cool down so quickly.  As mentioned, the power steering keeps handling the massive Silverado a breeze, yet someone even weighting in at over 5,000 pounds, the Silverado handles like a sports car--well okay, maybe more like a sporty sedan; how the good folks at Chevrolet managed this some of us will never understand--but it's darn fun, nonetheless!  Finally, in order to be prepared for any and all situations that Vermont's roads and weather will throw at you, a simple turn of the dial (shown bottom left corner in the picture above) will switch the 2011 Silverado 1500 from two to four wheel drive--how easy is that?

Which Is the Right Choice For You?

Feel free to use this information when making your buying decision.  Are you looking for more power, or a greater payload?  Both have excellent attributes, so you really can't go wrong.  If you are thinking about doing a lot of towing, the Duramax Diesel may be the way to go.  If you're going to be doing less towing and more hauling within the bed, maybe you'd consider sticking with the Vortec Gasoline engine for the extra 910 pounds of maximum payload capacity.  Again, the choice really depends on what the truck will be used for.

If you're unsure of what you need, ask your Handy Chevrolet Sales Consultant any and all questions and explain to them what you want your 2011 Chevy Silverado Heavy Duty  to do for you.  You can also click here to ask those questions via email to save yourself some time.  Nevertheless, there won't be anything this Silverado cannot do.

Payload and Trailering of the 2011 Silverado Heavy Duty's
